Director & Lead Media Trainer
Tim is a PR and crisis comms specialist and former journalist who spent nearly 20 years as a political correspondent covering events at Westminster and further afield, interviewing Prime Ministers, Presidents, Secretaries of State, and scores of cross-party politicians.
As a senior BBC News correspondent, Tim reported for all BBC TV and radio news programmes, including BBC Breakfast, the Ten o’ Clock News, the Today programme, BBC World Service, and BBC online. He covered the London bombings, reported from Brazil and Brussels, and presented news programmes.
Tim began his journalistic career in newspapers in Scotland, where he reported for both tabloid and broadsheet publications including The Herald, Scotsman, Daily Record, Daily Mirror, and The Sun.
After leaving the BBC, Tim spent just over two years as Director of Communications for leading environmental law group ClientEarth.
Tim now handles media relations for a range of global businesses in the environment and tech sectors and uses his extensive experience as a broadcast journalist and communications professional to train senior leaders how to present themselves and their organisations to best effect and to excel under media scrutiny.
As a crisis communications specialist, Tim uses his journalistic expertise to ensure that organisations are best placed to weather a PR crisis. Skilled at drafting a crisis comms plan and devising key messages, he is able to predict the questions which you’ll be asked, and the responses you should give to protect you and your organisation’s reputation as much as possible.
